Richmond SPADE is the gardening project for disabled people in Richmond upon Thames. It is provided by a team of volunteers who are dedicated to conserving the local environment and to enabling disabled people to get the most out of their gardens.

What the Service Provides
Richmond SPADE helps disabled people whose gardens, over the years, have got out of hand. A volunteer visits the garden to help clear it up of overgrown plants, grass, and weeds.
Because of our small size we do not offer a regular gardening service, but we do help people to keep their garden more manageable year by year!
To help cover our costs we ask for a £15 fee for up to three hours work. We also welcome any contributions and donations – including of unused tools and gardening equipment – to support our work.
Our small team of volunteers is always very busy visiting gardens around Richmond upon Thames, and we tend to have a waiting list of at least 3 weeks in advance.
How can I help?
People interested in the outdoors, in gardening and in conservation work are very highly valued with Richmond SPADE. There is always a lot to do, so contact us now to find out how you can contribute or check our the Volunteering Opportunities section.

How does it work?
On the day of your appointment, one or two volunteers will come for about 2-3 hours and tidy up your garden. We can help provide equipment if you explain to us what you need when calling our service.
Who can apply?
The service is available to disabled people in the borough of Richmond upon Thames.
