Reminder to book your place – important NHS events
We are writing to remind you of two important upcoming events to get involved with the Better Services Better Value review of health services in South West London.
What is happening?
NHS doctors, from hospitals and GPs, nurses and therapists are reviewing local health services and think it is essential that local people are actively involved in this. As part of our engagement plan, we are inviting you to some events for our key stakeholders in July 2011.
Why is it important?
This is your chance to be involved at the beginning of a process to look at local health services across the whole of South West London. Information and views gathered now will directly influence how services will be developed in the future — don’t wait to have your voice heard!
What will be discussed?
The review has already identified a number of challenges for local health services – these challenges and potential solutions will be discussed. You will have the opportunity to discuss in depth either: long-term conditions; planned care and end of life care; emergency and urgent care; maternity; or children’s services. You will also have the opportunity to hear directly from GP leaders, hospital doctors and nurses from across South West London and ask them questions about the challenges facing the local NHS and possible ways forward.
Who should attend?
Local councillors; MPs, Local Involvement Network (LINk) members; members of voluntary and community sector organisations; Local Authority partners – especially those in social care; patient groups; anyone with a particular interest in health.
Are there other chances to be involved?
Yes, this is the very beginning of the review and the first events for our key stakeholders, but we are also hoping to hold more events across South West London in the autumn as the review continues. However, we really hope you will be able to take part in these early discussions.
