Richmond Advice and Information on Disability (Richmond AID) is an organisation of and for disabled people, working to improve access, choice, quality of life and independence for disabled people in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and surrounding areas.

 

On 31st October 2016 the Government published the Improving Lives: Work and Health Green Paper and announced a new package of personalised support for people with a health condition or disability who want to move into employment. The Journey to Employment (J2E) is a national programme funded by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). Richmond AID will be delivering across the Harlesden and Brixton areas. The voluntary Journey to Employment (J2E) peer support Job Clubs are delivered away from the Jobcentre and offer disabled people and people with a health condition support to reduce and overcome barriers to employment, provide techniques to manage health conditions and change attitudes towards employment.

 

We are looking for two part-time enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated people Employment Officers to join our team. This Employment Officer (EO) role will with closely with the Community Employment Specialist. The EO and must have the ability the set-up, facilitate and administrate peer support job clubs as well as deliver one to one support.

 

The Employment Officer must have a lived experience or expert knowledge of disability and an understanding into the issues disabled people face in finding and securing employment.

 

2 x Employment Officers (Harlesden and Brixton)

Salary: pro rata of £22,065 to £24,024 depending on experience (incl. OLW)

Annual Leave: pro rata of 25 days leave plus bank holidays

Closing Date: 10am on Monday 3rd April 2017

Interviews: Monday 10th or Tuesday 11th April 2017

 

Posts are part-time (15 hours per week) and will be on a fixed term contract for one year, with potential to extend.
