Richmond Advice and Information on Disability (Richmond AID) is an organisation of and for disabled people, working to improve access, choice, quality of life and independence for disabled people.

On 31st October 2016 the Government published the Improving Lives: Work and Health Green Paper and announced a new package of personalised support for people with a health condition or disability who want to move into employment. The Journey to Employment (J2E) project is funded by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), initially for one year. Richmond AID will be delivering across the Harlesden and Brixton areas. The voluntary Journey to Employment (J2E) peer support Job Clubs are delivered away from the Jobcentre and offer disabled people and people with a health condition support to reduce and overcome barriers to employment, provide techniques to manage health conditions and change attitudes towards employment.

We are looking for a full-time enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated Community Employment Specialist (CES) to join our team. The Community Employment Specialist (CES) role is an innovative new way of supporting disabled people into paid employment using peer support, employer engagement and close partnership working with Jobcentre Plus. This role provides an opportunity to lead a change agenda and actively influence and support employers in the local community to change their attitudes towards employing disabled people or those with a health condition, and work with them to build a better understanding of disability and being Disability Confident.

The CES will need excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills and be able to manage a range of tasks in the Job Club, Jobcentre Plus and in the local community.
