There have been lots of changes to local library services in Richmond upon Thames.  Here we’ll outline just a few of those changes.

New Library Card

You can now get a new Library Card which lets you access all the library services. The card comes with a key fob and is available in six designs. To get a card you need to take proof of your name and address into your local library.

Concession Rates

Concession-rate cards are now only available to people with severe hearing or visual impairment. DVD hire prices however, have been lowered and audiobooks are free to all. The libraries also provide a ‘home library’ service for those who can’t get out due to age or disability and have no other means of accessing library services. If you think you are eligible for the home service you can contact your library by phone, post or email for further details.

E-books and E-library

You can now download e-books from the internet using your library card and PIN number. You can download up to five e-books at a time, and they will be automatically deleted from your device at the end of the loan period.

You can find more information on this on the website belowor by speaking to your local library.

IT Taster Sessions

You can now book IT Taster sessions in person or online using the computers in the libraries. These taster sessions include ‘Internet for Beginners’, ‘Sending and Receiving Email’, and ‘Excel and Word Documents’.

For more info on all of these services check out their website or ask when you are next visiting your library. Here’s the website:
